Time To Participate In API's Propane Sales Survey

2005-04-29

Check your mailbox for the new survey from the American Petroleum Institute. The survey, which tracks 2004 propane sales, is used to create API's annual Sales of Natural Gas Liquids and Liquefied Refinery Gases publication.

The report, funded by the Propane Education & Research Council and produced in collaboration with the Gas Processors Association and the National Propane Gas Association, will be available in late 2005. Last year, API and PERC launched a new initiative in cooperation with Energy and Environmental Analysis, Inc., WirthlinWorldwide, and Petral Consulting Company to further improve the survey's methodology and the reliability of the results.

The key to improving the survey is maintaining a high level of participation by the industry in the annual survey. Accurate results are important since the report is used to determine the percentage of rebate dollars each state receives through PERC. The survey is due back to API by May 16, and a follow-up mailing will come in June to companies that did not initially respond. For more information, contact PERC's Kelley Maierhofer at (202) 452-8975 or kelley.maierhofer@propanecouncil.org.
