Nominations Now Accepted for 2007 PROPANE Exceptional Energy® Homebuilder Awards

2006-08-11

Know builders that loyally use propane as a home energy source and have found innovative ways to use propane? Nominate them for the 2007 PROPANE Exceptional Energy® Homebuilder Awards!

Last year, Real Estate Service of Connecticut and Sable Developing won awards for their commitment to using propane as a primary fuel not only for single homes, but for entire developments.

The propane marketers that nominate the winning builders will receive a complimentary trip to the 2007 International Builders’ Show in Orlando on February 7-10. The competition features two categories: builders of homes over $250,000 and builders of homes under $250,000. Nominations must be received by October 31.

Propane has a narrow range of flammability when compared with other petroleum products. In order to ignite, the propane/air mix must contain from 2.2 to 9.6 percent propane vapor. If the mixture contains less than 2.2 percent gas, it is too lean to burn. If it contains more than 9.6 percent, it is too rich to burn.
